Pacaya Samiria National Park, Loreto, Peru

The Pacaya Samiria Reserve is one of the largest protected natural reserves of Peru. It was established in 1982 as a natural reserve. This reserve hosts more than two million hectars of tropical Amazon forest which conserves the largest biodiversity of the planet.

Day 1

4:00 AM Personnel from our agency will pass by your hotel to bring you to the port of the city, Yurimaguas. Following this, we will begin our 4 hour trip via river transport to the community of Lagunas where we will join our native guides. After breakfast, we will take our 30 minute commute in a motor taxi to port Tibilo.
10:00 AM We begin our expedition. This day we will use artesanal boats to make the 5 hour trip down the Tibilo river to our cabana that is located in an area called “Posa Gloria”. During our visit we will observe native birds, watch crocodiles, fish for piranhas, as well as other activities.

Day 2: Posa Gloria - Panteon

8:00 AM After breakfast, we begin our day in canoe so that we are mobile during our trip. This day we will watch crocodiles, monkeys, exotic amazonian birds, as well as fish for piranhas and other activities. During the afternoon we will take a 2 hour hike where we will become familiar with medicinal plants and giant trees.
7:00 PM We begin our night time tour to watch crocodiles, go fishing, and enjoy the amazonian legends and peace that nature brings us.

Day 3: Panteon - Camotal

8:00 AM We begin our 4 hour journey to a place called “Camotal”. During this trip we will be able to view dolphins, otters, monkeys, and aquatic birds. We will have lunch in Camotal, and spend the afternoon free where you can swim and enjoy the peace that nature brings us.

Day 4: Panteon

8:00 AM We begin our excursion with a 4 hour hike into the national park. You will be able to see the incredible diversity of medicinal plants, edible plants, and vines with potable water. Here we will do recreational activities.
1:00 PM We will eat lunch in Comodato. After lunch, we will take the canoes and do some sport fishing. At night we will have a campfire and our guides will tell us traditional legends from the amazon.

Day 5: Panteon - Posa Gloria

8:00 AM We will begin our 7 hour return trip to the cabana of Posa Gloria. During our return we will make stops to take photographs, eat lunch, and other activities. When we arrive at Posa Glora we will eat dinner at 5 PM and spend the night.

Day 6 Posa Gloria - Lagunas - Yurimaguas

5:00 AM We will begin our 6 hour return trip to the Tiblio port where our transportation to the community of Lagunas will await us. We will have lunch and take our transportation back to the port for our return trip to the city of Yurimaguas.
