Discovering the Treasures of the Amazon

This is the deepest expedition of the Peruvian amazon in Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve, where you will have direct contact with nature. You will be able to experience the culture and get to know a millennium of our native communities in the Peruvian amazon. This trip is designed for lovers of adventure who want to enjoy nature in all of its splendor.

Day 1: Yurimaguas – Lagunas – Posa Gloria

We leave for the office of Amazon Expedition – Lagunas en Av. Padre Lucero N° 1345, (neighborhood José Cárdenas, in truck or Motor Taxi, with the destination point of Control PV8–Tiblio (the main entrance to the Payaca-Samiria National Reserve), where the visitors are registered by SERNA personnel. We leave in canoes that are in great condition from the port PV8-Tibilo. After three (3 hours) of navigation, we will arrive at the “Puesto Volante Tranca”, where we will prepare lunch. After a short rest, we continue navigating to the “Poza Gloria” refuge site, where we will stay for the first night. If you decide, we can go on a night tour which is beautiful on the first
night.

Day 2: Posa Gloria – Comotal

7:00 AM Breakfast.
7:30 AM We leave the Poza Gloria to continue down the river Yanayacú in canoe. Here we will be able to see water turtles, a variety of fish, insects, birds, and other animals. During the journey to the Armanayacu Gorge, you will be able to see the giant trees known as the trees of the boas, as well as pink dolphins and Paiches, the second largest freshwater fish.
Upon arrival at the campsite “Panteon”, we will have lunch. After approximately 2 hours of rest, we will continue to the control point Camotal, where we will spend the night. After dinner we will take a night walk to the Armanayacu Gorge where we can see many species of crocodiles.

Day 3: Comotal – Tipishca

7:00 AM Breakfast.
8:00 AM We begin our canoe expedition to a place called Nuevo Iquitos.
We will take a 2 hour hike through the jungle weaving through medicinal plants, giant trees, and observing birds. Then we will continue walking to arrive at “Campamento Garrotillo” where we will eat lunch.
After our stop, we will continue our trip to arrive at “PV Tipischa Huama”, where we will stay for the night in a campsite made by our guides.

Day 4: Camotal – Volante Paña

7:00 AM Breakfast.
8:00 AM We begin our excursion in canoe to a place called “Sacarita Paña”. During our trip, you can watch the dolphins, birds, and enjoy the exuberant nature. We will stop for lunch and then continue our trip in canoe to a place called “Puesto Volante Paña” where we will spend the night in a site organized by our guides.
After dinner, we will take a night walk to explore the area.

Day 5: Volante Peña – Tipishca Grande

7:00 AM Breakfast.
8:00 AM We continue in canoe on our journey to arrive at a place named “Chiclayo”, during this excursion you will be able to see exotic birds, fish for piranhas, and enjoy the savage life of the amazon. We will enjoy the amazon legends, eat lunch, then continue on to our campsite, “Puesto Tipischa Grande”.

Day 6: Tipishca Grande – Pasto Cocha

7:00 AM Breakfast.
8:00 AM We will continue our expedition as we arrive to a place called “Tipishquillo”, the guacamayo birds and other animals will accompany us on our walk up to the entrance point of “Cocha Pasto”, where we will spend the night. During the night we will take an excursion to surprise and awaken us to the savage life of the amazon jungle.

Day 7: Cocha Pasto

8:00 AM This day will be a great day for us to enjoy Cocha Pasto. We will do an excursion to cover the entire area which will leave us in awe of the savage life here. We will be able to appreciate crocodiles, birds, and other species. Later we will continue to our campsite in Cocha Pasto.

Day 8: Cocha Pasto – Tipishca Grande

7:00 AM Breakfast.
8:00 AM This day we begin our return trip. Our destination will be “Villa Lagunas” and we will spend the night in the campsite “Tipischa Grande”.

Day 9: Tipishca Grande – Shanti Caño

5:00 AM Breakfast.
6:00 AM We will take off for the destination “Shanti Caño”, where we will eat lunch. After lunch we will continue our trip to “Alto Colinos” where we will spend the night in a campsite made by our guides.

Day 10: Shanti Caño – Tipishca Huama

6:00 AM Breakfast.
6:30 AM We will depart for our destination called “Rioja”, where we will arrive at midday. Here we will eat lunch and continue on to Tipischa Huama where we will spend the night.

Day 11: Tipishca Huama – Camotal

6:00 AM Breakfast.
7:00 AM We leave for our destination, “Poza Gloria”. We will stop at “Campamento Panteón” to eat lunch, and then continue on our journey for some hours. In the afternoon we will go up to the “Poza Gloria” where we will spend the night in a cabana.

Day 12: Camotal – Posa Gloria

6:00 AM Breakfast.
7:00 AM Departure to Poza Gloria, with stop at the Panteón Camp for lunch, then we continue with our trip in the afternoon arriving at Poza Gloria, where we spend the night in a cabin.

Day 13: Posa Gloria – Lagunas – Yurimaguas

7.00 AM Breakfast.
7:30 AM We will return to “Tibilo”, the first place where we entered the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve. Later we will go to the “Villa Lagunas” either in tuk-tuk or motor taxi. When we arrive to the Laguna we will eat lunch at 1 PM, then make our way to Yurimaguas.
