4D/3N Rain on the River
First Day
Transfer from the airport or hotel. Walk through the Plaza de Armas, Matriz Church, Iron House, the boardwalk, and historic mansions from the rubber boom era.
Transfer to our Private Dock to board the Fast Boat with outboard motor. We will navigate the Itaya River for 15 minutes and observe the panoramic view of the bridge that crosses the Nanay River, considered the longest in Peru; this bridge connects the city with the countryside.
We will continue the journey to enter the longest and most voluminous river in the world, the Amazon. Information about the Amazon, search for gray dolphins and pink river dolphins.
We will navigate the Amazon to the Cumaceba Curaka Inn. Reception with seasonal fruit refreshment. General information. Assignment of private bungalows. Typical Juane lunch. In the afternoon, jungle walk to learn about the flora, fauna, and biodiversity of the area.
Night walk through the jungle listening to the variety of sounds from insects, amphibians, birds, among others. Canoe excursion depending on the season. Dinner. Jungle stories narrated by the guide. Overnight at the lodge.
Second Day
Birdwatching in their natural habitat, walking or by canoe. Breakfast. Excursion to visit a riverside resident where we will observe non-venomous boa constrictors, sloths, turtles, among others. We will also learn the traditional way of extracting sugarcane juice, tasting the juice and its derivatives such as sugarcane rum and molasses.
Return to the lodge. Typical fish lunch. In the afternoon, visit to the riverside village "Gallito" to learn about their daily activities and customs. Depending on the weather, we will witness a wonderful sunset. Dinner. Overnight at the lodge.
Third Day
Breakfast. Fishing along the banks of the Amazon River: catfish, piranhas, among others. Observation of the Victoria Regia, the largest aquatic plant in the world. Return to the lodge and typical Patarashca lunch.
Relaxation time in the hammock area and/or pool. In the afternoon, walk around the surroundings, learning about plants and trees whose fruits are used by locals for their medicinal properties. We will observe the historic rubber or balata tree, cedar, and the majestic lupuna tree. Dinner. Overnight at the lodge.
Fourth Day
Breakfast. Canoe excursion along the banks of the Amazon observing birds, iguanas, etc.
Free time to read or simply relax in our peaceful Hammock House. Special moment for taking photographs. At the appropriate time, typical lunch – cecina with tacacho.
Departure to Iquitos. On the way, we will visit the native Bora community to learn about their customs, dialect, clothing, and traditional dances. It is recommended to bring items to exchange for their handmade crafts. Arrival in the city of Iquitos. Transfer to the airport or hotel. End of services.
